Continuous Learning:

By embracing a growth mindset, you create a better environment for overcoming challenges as they present themselves.

Meet Dawn

Like you, I have experienced many life changes. Some of these transitions were exciting, while others were painful. They all had one thing in common. Each challenge offered an opportunity for personal growth. Every life transition I experienced improved my ability to adjust to new ones in the future.

One thing I realized is that I have a strong passion for helping others navigate through their transitions. It resonates so deeply within me, stirring my soul. I have had both formal and practical training that brings a unique blend to my coaching service.

Highlights of my formal education credentials include:

Master of Arts in Human Services: Executive Leadership

  • Liberty University

Bachelor of Science in Psychology: Family Studies with a minor in program planning

  • Corban University

Professional Board-Certified Coach (BCC)

  • The Center for Credentialing and Education (CCE)

Associate Certified Coach (ACC)

  • International Coaching Federation (ICF)

Highlights of some of my practical life credentials include:

  • Marriage – The year 1996 marked a significant milestone in my life as I entered marriage with my husband, embracing the transformative shift from “me” to “we”.
  • Infertility – My understanding of femininity underwent a profound transformation when I had to face infertility head-on, with the unplanned removal of my reproductive organs as a result of PCOS and Endometriosis.
  • Multiple Relocations – Due to job opportunities, I experienced multiple relocations, living in six different states and immersing myself in diverse American subcultures.
  • Foster Parent – In my role as a foster parent, I welcomed children between the ages of 18 months and 13 years old into my home, offering them stability and guidance during their time in care.
  • Family Teachers – As family teachers, my husband and I lived and worked in residential treatment facilities as substitute parental figures for children between the ages of 5 and 17.
  • Adoption – My husband and I welcomed our son to the Harper family when he was five years old. He had special needs, which generated regular challenges and transitions to navigate as he grew into adulthood.
  • PTSD/Generalized Anxiety Diagnosis – Following a series of traumatic events, I then learned how to restructure my life. Through this process, I regained my sense of identity that had been lost during six years of intense grieving.
  • Career Change – I have experienced several career shifts because of industry, country economic, and/or personal circumstantial changes. Some examples include the areas of real estate sales & property management, behavioral health, office & human resource management, and entrepreneurship.
  • Spiritual Awakening – Through life-giving spiritual awakenings, my perception of man-made religious constructs shattered, enabling me to establish a profound relationship with the Creator of the universe that provides meaning for my life.
  • Diabetes Management – After being on medications for 7 years, I gained the ability to eliminate the need for medication by making lifestyle changes.
  • Food Addiction – By utilizing intermittent fasting, I broke free from my unhealthy emotional reliance on food as a source of comfort in times of uncertainty.

The Joy of Replenishment

There was a period in my life when I lost the ability to have fun because of the overwhelming chaos of an unbalanced existence. Today, I have rediscovered the joy of “playtime” and how it replenishes my energy levels and enriches my life. Play offers a multitude of benefits, including stress reduction, creativity, and problem-solving skills. It also promotes emotional regulation and peace of mind, fosters social connection and relationship building, and encourages curiosity, exploration, and adaptability.

Here are some of my favorite ways I play:
  • Embarking on adventures with my husband
  • Game night with friends
  • Playing with my dogs
  • Solving puzzles- both physical and digital
  • Reading fiction with unique story premises – John Scalzi and Sharon K. Gilbert are some
  • favorite authors
  • Writing fiction short stories
  • Bowling
  • Kayaking
  • Disc golf
  • Explore walking paths
  • Target shooting
  • Gardening
